First of all, I have no complaints.  There are certainly people with more to worry about than me.

For those who don't know, I live in Houston, and Hurricane Ike "passed" through Friday night.  I am still without, power, but my boss has power now as of yesterday afternoon.  In fact, I am at his house now and will probably be working from there for the next week or so.  There is minor damage to my home.  In fact the worst is the ruined food in my fridge.  The power company said that it will likely take two weeks before power is restored to my home due to a downed power pole a few houses down from mine.

I have much to be thankful for.  My family is all safe, including my wife and kids, mother and sister and her family.  No one was injured and we are all only dealing with trivial things like no power.  In fact, we went to church Sunday morning even with no electricity.

I look forward to getting back to normal.  Up until Ike I was working on a project that we put into production last Wednesday.  Fortunately there were no major issues, as it will be quite difficult for me to address them right now.  The release has been considered a success by all (most importantly, the customer).

As I juggle getting my home repaired, keeping my family safe (and sane), and working with limited resources, I will probably not post again for a couple of weeks.  Hopefully, my next post will be about something cool I did with .Net (you can be the judge).

Until then, stay safe and be nice to your neighbor, you never know when you might depend on them for help.
